Schamp, 92, of Lincoln, passed away August 14, 2016. Born June 12, 1924, in rural Wilber, to Charles and Freda (Divoky) Drda. Homemaker. Past-president of Lincoln Doll Club. She had worked at Department Store in Lincoln, J.C. Penney and a dental office in Nebraska City before she retired. Ruth was a member of the Bethel United Church of Christ in Nebraska City where she was very active as a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Church Council. She was also very active in Fellowship at the church. Ruth loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, gardening, dancing and walking.

She had served as a volunteer with the bloodmobile. Survivors include her husband Wilson Sigerson; son, Dan- iel Sigerson of Nebraska City; daughter, Mary (Jeff) Garland of Lees Summit, grandchildren, McKensie Sigerson, Kurtis Siger- son, Aaron Garland, Johathan Garland, Bethany (Tyler) Cross; great-grandchildren, Sabella Cross and Jaxton Cross; many other relatives and friends. Reddish Michael C. Reddish was unex- pectedly called home on Saturday, August 13, 2016, while spending time with family in Kansas City. He was an amazing man who put his family before anything else. He raised a family of five while working for the State of Nebraska for 45 years. In addition, he was an active member of St.

Vincent De Paul and committed many hours to charitable service. He was a man who loved the simple pleasures in life; time with family, vacation on the beach, poker with friends and visits to the casino. He was a kind, loving and gentle soul who will be missed dearly by all who new him. Mike is preceded in death by his father and mother, Orville and Josephine Reddish, and step- mother, Mary Reddish. He was married to and leaves behind the love of his life, Patricia Shaw Reddish, his three children; Nicole Degner, Wendy (Jason) Neef, and Chris (Abby) Reddish, his seven grandchildren; Zach, Tanner, Tyler, McKenna, Caden, Maevry and Connor.

Mike is also survived by his sister, Susan Curelop and many loving nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in- law. A rosary with be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, and the funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, both at St. Catholic Church in Lincoln.

Wednesday, Oak Creek Cemetery, south of Hastings. Visitation after 12 noon Monday at the funeral home. Visitation with family Tuesday at the funeral home. Please visit bmlfh.com. Bowmaster Opal May Renner Bowmaster, 96, of Lincoln, formerly from Seward, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2016.

Opal was born on February 21, 1920, on the family farm outside of Battle Creek to Fred and Luella (Green) Renner. Opal attended a one-room school- house until she was in 8th grade. She graduated from Battle Creek High School in the spring of 1938 and began teaching at a one-room school that fall. She attended Nebraska Wes- leyan University in Lincoln in 1941-1942. She joined the Willard Sorority, starting a family tradition which has continued for three generations.

At Wesleyan, she met her husband Ralph J. (Bugs, Bow) Bowmaster. They were married on July 26, 1942 in Corpus Christi, Texas, one of the places where Ralph was stationed during WWII. After the war, they moved back to Lincoln and lived there from 1945 to 1950 before moving to Seward, where they raised their four chil- dren. When the youngest child started school, Opal went back to Ne- braska Wesleyan to obtain her B.S.

degree in elementary education. While attending Wesleyan, Opal was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi Education Honorary and Phi Kappa Phi Academic Honorary. She graduated from Wesleyan in 1963 and started her teaching career with Seward Public Schools. Opal taught 4th and 6th grades before becoming the elementary school librarian. She touched many lives and retired from teaching in 1983.

Opal was a member of the Seward United Methodist Church for 66 years and was active in United Methodist Women, and Bible Study. Opal also was a member of Yellow and Brown Ties, Wise Old Willards, Willard Alumni Association, and the Wesleyan Alumni Association. In 1989, she and Ralph received the Nebraska Wesleyan Medal of Honor Distinguished Alumni Award. Opal was very involved in the Seward community, including P.E.O., Busy Hour, Blue Valley Quil- ters Guild, Magazine Club, Bridge Clubs, Extension Club, and Seward Retired Teachers Association. Opal and Ralph loved to travel, enjoying many family camping trips, visiting all 50 states and a number of for- eign countries.

Opal enjoyed watching the sports her husband coached. She attended many Nebraska athletic events, including Nebraska football games, until she was in her late 80s. Opal loved her family and set a fine example for them with her strong faith in the Lord, her dedication to her church, and her devotion to education. Opal is survived by her chil- dren and spouses, Kay and Regy Green, Steve and Judy Krueger, Becky Bowmaster, all of Lincoln; Ron Bowmaster and Cec Brady of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchil- dren, Alison and Larry Lueders, Bennington; Trent and Mary Lou Green, Portland, Travis and Shauna Green, Jason and Me- gan Krueger, Kelly Krueger, all of Lincoln; Vanessa Bowmaster Hubbell and David Hubbell, Garett Bowmaster and Sydney Johnson, all of Omaha; great-grandchildren: Joshua, Katelyn, and Kyle Lueders, Bennington; Sophia and Abigail Green, Portland; Miley and Everett Green, Jack and Claire Krueger, all of Lincoln. Many Bowmaster and Renner nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews survive her.

The family would like to thank the compassionate staff at Tabitha Martha House in Lincoln for taking excellent care of Opal. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, at the United Methodist Church Seward, with arrangements en- trusted to Zabka Funeral Home, Seward. Schroer Elaine J. Schroer, 83, of Lin- coln passed away August 14, 2016. Born December 5, 1932, in Malcolm to Joseph and Alice (Schoeneman) Steyer. She mar- ried Donald E. Schroer on January 15, 1951.

Elaine was a home- maker and enjoyed gardening and shopping, but most of all, enjoyed spending time with family and attending family activities and athletic events. Member of St. Catholic Church. Marilyn was born on August 2, 1932, in Hazen, N.D., to Carl and Esther (Pfenning) Roem- mich. The love of her life was her grandchildren and all of the chil- dren she cared for over the years.

Marilyn is survived by her hus- band of 63 years, Patrick Healey. Son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Juanita Healey and their chil- dren; Chad (fiancee Sarah), Chase (wife Becca), and Chip (wife Annie) and their son, Mason. in Business Education from the University of Maryland, College Park. She taught for a number of years in two high schools in Mont- gomery County, Maryland, retiring in 1985. She loved every minute of her teaching career, especially the students, and admired the dedication of the principals, too. Upon their retirement, Mary and Paul moved from Silver Spring, to Hampstead, near Wilming- ton N.C. Veskrna Donald Joseph Veskrna, 80, of David City, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016, on his farm due to a tragic tractor accident. Donald was born on Au- gust 17, 1935, at the family farm South of David City, to Louis and Lucy (Hottovy) Veskrna.

He gradu- ated from David City High School, and served in the U.S. Navy from to On May 10, 1958, he was united in marriage to Delores Quick. Farming, family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were passion in life. He enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, the beautiful outdoors, especially hunting and ice fishing, and drinking a beer. Delores, his wife, was his soulmate and the love of his life.

Born in North Platte on December 10, 1932, to George F. and Iva (Mills) Schell. George enlisted into the National Guard at age 16 and served for 30 years. He graduated from North Platte High School and was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad until retirement at age 55. Married to Mary Lois Hall on No- vember 9, 1952.

Served the North Platte community as city council- man for 15 years.
