But Bulls officials would not confirm the deal, described in participation availability for students with hearing or visual impairments and also approved new bylaws governing music. The first proposal passed allows students with hearing or visual impairments to participate in activities at the Nebraska School for the Deaf (in Omaha) or the Nebraska School for the Visually Handicapped (in Nebraska City) if their home school district contracts with those schools for educational programs. This allows students, who can be identified as having hearing or visual impairments and therefore have dual enrollment to Dallas Mavericks and Mark West of the Phoenix Suns were suspended for one game and fined $4,000 each for fighting during an NBA game. The governing body passed a proposal to include individuals as well as member schools in the legislation allowing the as-siciation's Board of Control or executive director to levy penalties for unsporstmanlike conduct The penalities approved include reprimand, probation or suspension from participation for one or more contests.

NSAA Executive Director Jim Riley said the proposal, which now must pass a referendum vote of the member schools before it can be enacted, would help clarify the situa-tioa "There was a tendency to avoid penalties that would affect the entire school or he told the 47-member assembly. "This allows us to isolate the individual guilty of unsportsmanlike conduct instead of punishing the entire team." UNSPORSTMANLIKE CONDUCT, as defined in the group's bylaws, includes "physical or verbal assault upon any participant, game-official or spectator, or any acts which may endanger the personal safety of individuals involved, or acts which hinder the normal progress of a contest or lead to the restriction or discontinuance of a contest" In other business, the Representative Assembly approved two changes in the bylaws governing all activities concerning i-riaay Chicago Tribune, and Jordan Jordan said he didn't know if his agent and attor-ney had negotiated a new pact. -A A GAVE '50 From Star staff and wire reports INDIANAPOLIS Mike Irvin and Lawrence Roddick each produced All-America performances for the second straight day to pace the University of Nebraska to a ninth place finish after Friday's competition in the NCAA men's swimming and diving championships at the Indiana University Natatorium. Irvin earned his second honor by finishing seventh in the 400-yard individual medley. His time was a Nebraska and Big Eight Conference record. Irvin had finished eighth in the 200 individual medley on Thursday. Roddick, who achieved elite status by finishing third in the one-meter diving on Thursday, added an eighth-place finish in the three-meter event Friday.

Nebraska's 91 points is the most-ever produced by a Cornhusker team at the three-day NCAA meet The previous high NU total in an NCAA meet was 42 points. Nebraska's Sean Frampton swam in the consolation finals Friday, finishing 15th in the 100 breaststroke to earn honorable mention All-America honors. He finished 12th in the same event a year ago. NU's 800 freestyle relay unit of Irvin, Ryan Bell, Peter Williams and Dan Novinski also finished 10th in a NU and Big Eight Conference record time. Nebraska was in seventh after Thursday's competition and is trying for a coveted top-10 finish.

"We're still in the top 10 so we can't complain about that" NU coach Cal Bentz said. "We knew it was going to be a tough fight from the start, but it's better to be fighting to stay in there than to be fighting to get into the top 10 on the last day, that's for sure. "We're doing the things we have to do at this point in the meet All in all, we've been staying the same or moving up following qualifying. Our guys are continuing to better school records and many guys are bettering their personal bests and as long as we can continue to do that we'll stay in there." Texas took over the lead in the team race with 273 points. RT5S Rear tine 5 hp engine.

It was rescheduled as the second half of a double-header Saturday. Brown Frmpa9m flew by private jet back to Kansas, made a brief stop at his home and then announced that he was not making the move? Brown was giving no indication. In another statement released through his sports information office, Brown said, "I'm committed to these kids and I'm staying. Like Dorothy said, 'There's no place like I don't want to do anything to take anything away from this championship." Which does not begin to explain why he had been interested in leaving just hours earlier. Mike Maddox, a Jayhawk was asked what Brown had said in the team meeting.

"He just apologized for us for the way all this came out He didn't want to take anything away from what we had accomplished this year. He said he was sorry it happened." Which does not begin to explain why he had been interested in leaving just hours earlier. In a televised interview later Friday evening Brown said, "To be honest with you, I wanted to be the coach at UCLA, but circumstances changed that" Brown said that UCLA's offer was better than he had expected, and that he had not sat down with his athletic director to talk about a new contract. Brown had given every indication that he was taking the UCLA job, to the point of asking people in the basketball office to call a meeting of the UCLA players for 11 a.m. Saturday, an hour before the planned press conference.

Athletic Director Pete Dalis was in his office all afternoon, getting on with the business of finding a new basketball coach. Jim Harrick of Pepperdine, a former UCLA assistant coach, and Paul West-head of Loyola Marymount are still being mentioned. But Dalis preferred to make no comment saying only that there were several candidates under consideration, and that he wanted to fill the position as soon as possible. Check the lire ads. "I'm semi-cheating the course," Calcavecchia said. "I'm not hitting the ball well at all The first seven holes I hit it worse than I did yesterday, and I didn't think that was possible. But I made some unbelieveable pars seven in a row. I could have been 4 or 5 over par. There were some great chips and putts in that stretch." Calcavecchia has a slowly improving sore shoulder that still hurts him on some swings, but he insists, "I'm so into the tournament I think I could play with a broken collar bone and still get by If I could concentrate every week as well as I have this and as well as I'm going to keep on concentrating, I'd be a better player than I am.

This place forces you to focus because if you go to sleep for a minute, it's (bogey, bogey, double bogey) and you're out of the tournament" Does anybody know where Calcavecchia and his aching shoulder can get a good massage? "They've finally gotten them back to the way they used to be," said Nicklaus this week, praising the change several years ago from Bermuda (infected with poa annua) to bent grass. Upon hearing Zoeller's amusing tirade, Watson said, "I think the greens are perfect This is what major championships are all about I completely disagree with Fuzzy. What would you expect from "someone whose name begins with It wasn't hard Friday to know what to expect from Lyle and Calcavecchia. Lyle stuck primarily to the watering svstem, showing how purely golf can be played With better putting, he might have challenged the course record of 63.

His birdies at Nos. 2, 5, 7, 9, 13 and 15 came on putts of one, 12, five, four, one and 12 feet He missed five other putts of 12 feet or less. "Since I got my swing sorted out a vear and a half ago, I've played the best golf of my left" said Lyle. "Now, I've played the Masters six times and I know the bad bits (hard spots) around here.
