Itoth have There are probablyfew people who know that Lincoln has the only storage battery manufactory In Nebraska and one of the very few west of Chicago. But there are people all the woy from Tennessee to the Pacific const, who have used or have heard of the Witt man heavy duty storage battery. It Is made at the Wtttman eompany'a-plant -atSOT-Bouth- Blev enth street. Wlttmann's storage battery business has been developing very rapidly in the past year. Shipments of the products are now made all over the west and southwest, to the Paclflo coast, from Tennessee to Oregon Next week Wlttmann will receive enough storage battery material to moke 20,000 batteries.

He handles the rtauch and I-ang electric cars and last week received a shipment of the newest models. The Heaston Auto company, of Lincoln, now In quarters In the Commercial Club building, which has found entirely too small for Its growing needs, will move into Its new home on street about April 1. The new Heaston sales rooms will embody all that Is the last word in modern auto sales room construction and in addition there will be a Jeffrey service station second to none In Nebraska. An official statement has been made by C. W.

Nnsh, president of the N'osh Motors company, that a large production order has been Issued on the Jeffrey Six, and that this car, Incorporating certain changes and refinements, win be continued throughout the season as the product of the Motor company. Ho much cojijoctive has been cur- ent as to the probable manufacturing policy which Mr. Nash would pursue that this announcement has aroused much Interest both among the trade and the general public. More Alloy Steel. "I have personully inspected this car In every detail.

Some of the things which learneAabout Unsurprised me. For Instance, It has more alloy steel In Its make-up than most American Alloy steel Is a superior material because of its great strength and resistance to wear. But because of Its great toughness it Is difficult to machine. It Is also much mora costly than ordinary carbon steel. "Another unusual feature about Jeffrey 8Jx construction Is the fact that nothing but best grade white ash Is used in the bodies.

Because a Jeffery Quad proved Its ability to negotiate the heavy mud roads leading into a tract of timber near Erie, Pa, after teams and rear drive trucks had been abandoned In despair, the Conneaut Shovel company of Conneaut, saved 40,000 feet of first quality white ash. Referring to the Incident, O. W. Benton, manager of the Conneaut company-said: "Since that time this truck has been driven through the deep sand along tho shores of Lake Krle where teams were unable to load up their quota of Band and pull out. We have climbed wash banks on the creeks somh of -here -wlth loads of logs' where" ull teams, trucks and automobiles gave up In despair.

We even drove It. Into a mouldering sand pit where no team has ever been able to pull a load out and where four horses are ofton stuck with a light wagon. Wc backed through this pit when one end of the truck was sunk so fur down that the frame dragged on the sand. But the Jeffery Quad pulled out without scarcely an effort."
