The son of Richard and Joanna Bristol, he moved to Columbus with his family when he was 10. He met his partner in life and faith, Lisa Schwanz (bom in Gothenburg), and they were married on Feb. 28, 2002. Signs of his unquenchable curiosity about how things worked were evident in toddlerhood as he began systematically taking apart and operating every piece of machinery he encountered. Not yet able to reach the pedals, his first thrill of the open road came when he managed, at age 3, to put the family car in neutral and back it down a hill as his mother raced after him.

He was hooked on cars. At age 5 his mother bought him "The Encyclopedia of Cars, which he lugged everywhere. Still too young to read, he pored over the pictures daily, and his mind contained the makes and models of hundreds of cars. He turned his childhood love of cars into a career, most recently at Woodhouse Auto Family in Omaha, where he was parts and service director since 2000. While there he helped build the Lincoln and Mazda dealerships on Street.

He helped the dealership earn the coveted President's Award every year for the highest level of customer satisfaction and sales volume. He also oversaw the arduous certification processes that involved implementing and overseeing the facility and the training of employees for multiple dealerships. His was a loving, gentle, guiding approach to leadership. He combined the rare capabilities of problem solving and innovation, while motivating and inspiring others. He hired and led and managed countless employees with kindness and humor as he worked among the 700 Woodhouse employees.

His open manner, quick humor, ready laugh and loving heart drew fellow employees to him. As one employee said, "Chris has been a major inspiration to me. The best thing about Chris is that he got the best out of everyone. He knew everyone's best characteristic. After hearing of the tragic situation some co-workers and I were talking about Chris and how awesome he was, not one person in the group could say they had a better boss.

Chris was the best, plain and simple, the best." He laughed often and loved to make others laugh. Master of the humorous content life offered, coupled with his delivery, his stories and one-liners could make tense moments an occasion to laugh. He was a creative writer of short stories, making a strong emotional connection with his readers. He accomplished this and other successes while overcoming the limitations of dyslexia. Chris was a man of deep and abiding faith, both in God and in the goodness of his fellow man.

He was grateful each day for a chance to receive the love of God and to share his love with others. Chris is survived by. his wife, Lisa Bristol; parents, Richard and Joanna Bristol of Urbandale, Iowa; sisters, Monica Sorenson, Stillwa- ter, Leesa Lawson, Collinsville, brother, Stuart Olson, Vienna, Austria. He was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Olson, of Genoa. He leaves behind a large fan club of young nieces and nephews who always awaited a chance to see what creative game "Uncle Chris" would concoct He also leaves behind an old truck, which he loved to drive on Nebraska country roads, thrilled to be the open road.
