LARSON, NEWTON, SOUTHEAST NORTHEAST Mm Nineteen boys from Lincoln will be among the some 400 boys from across Nebraska at the 56th annual session of Cornhusker Boys State. The program, sponsored by the American Legion Department of Nebraska, will be held June 9-15 on the University of Nebraska campus. Boys State is an educational program for youths in the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of American citizenship. The boys will review knowledge they already have and learn by doing as they organize their own city, county and state governments. John and Joyce Loudon, East High, the Sertoma Club of Lincoln.

Shane Mecham, son of Scott and Marilyn Mecham, They take back to their schools and communities a sense of responsibility in government. A delegate to Boys State must be a U.S. citizen, a junior in good standing at a Nebraska high school, and have outstanding qualifications in character, service and leadership, and be physically able to participate in a strenuous week of learning. Many organizations in Lincoln support this educational program as contributing sponsors for the boys.
